In April 2017, I was invited to speak to the MSU Meeting Planners Association on using digital tools to promote events and conferences. I developed a 45 minute presentation and corresponding PowerPoint slides to discuss aspects of digital promotion such as developing a communication strategy, creating a communication timeline, selecting social media channels for maximum impact, and understanding the distinct uses of an event website and social media resources. I was able to draw on my experiences working with the Community Foundation to provide examples of the topics I discussed, and took questions after the presentation to clarify where needed.
Because this presentation was not recorded, I included my notes with the PowerPoint slides for more in-depth information.
