Since I was 5 years old, I have been writing stories. I’ve been blogging my own story for about 5 years now and I currently work in in nonprofit marketing and communications. Some of the things that get me excited are creative nonfiction, graphic design, education, gender, digital media, and cultural research. I’m most interested in the way communication informs social interactions and identity.
My personal story is still a rough draft. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2016 with a double major in English with a creative writing concentration and Professional Writing with an emphasis on nonprofit and intercultural communications and research. I am the adoptive mother of a curly-tailed kitty cat named Tigger and two rambunctious puppy dogs named Romy and Michele (yes, like the movie). I have been known to ice fish and snowmobile on occasion, and in my free time I do yoga, eat food, and sing karaoke. Sometimes I even train for half-marathons! I am always looking for new, creative ways to tell the stories of the world around us, and opportunities to learn the “why” and “how” behind the “what” of effective communication.
On my blog you’ll find stories of my every day life with my partner Derek and our three fur children (and pretty much whatever’s running through my head that week), and on our travel blog you’ll find stories of our exciting adventures stateside and abroad! If you’re interested in stories I tell as a professional, hop over to my portfolio and take a look.
Think we’d write cool stories together, or have an idea for an awesome project? I’d love to hear from you!
